Alberto will win 8 TDF!

Before you jump to make non-educated conclusions, read carefully and keep your feelings away.

When Lance won his first TDF he was 27 years old. Alberto won his first at 25.

Lance's team in 1999 was a group of outcasts, Alberto is part of the best cycling team in the circuit.

Lance's teammates were a great group of kids doing what they love, riding with no preassure. Alberto's teammates are an extremely talented group of stars. In any other team, they would be TDF contenders, and I would not be surprised if more than 2 of them make the podium.

Lance was a good climber, better Time trial rider. Alberto is a Great climber and getting better at the TT.

Just with that information I know, if he stays healthy he will we the winner of The TOUR until 2015.

  1. A rediculously bold statement.  I like Contador.  I hope he wins the TDF this year. It was a crime he was not allowed to defend in '08.  Still to say he will win 8 because he was two years younger than Armstrong when he won his frst is stretching things.  US Postal / Discovery was as strong then as Astana may be today.  In light of current financial woes it is unlikely that Astana will remain as a title sponsor or stay intact as a team for more than this season let alone six more.  Contador has remarkable talent and will likely have a fine career in cycling. Still, he has had medocre results this year so far and there are others that proved their merrit at the Giro that are as serious threats to the overall GC at the tour as he.  Guess we will see.

    Mi first statement was to keep your feelings away and be sure not to make non-educated conclusions. I guess you don't pay attention when you read. Lets try again, i wasn't taking in consideration only the age at the time on my explanation. That was only one of the points. And is true what you said, US/Postal-Discovery was a strong team (the last four years of Lance dominance).  Lets go back to 1999 for a minute, are you telling me that in 1999 US/Postal was as strong as Discovery when Alberto won his first? You are not making educated statements!  Johan did an excellent job putting great ridders around Lance. Johan also became the best SD, learning with Lance. Alberto is taking advantage of that knowledge, without most of the growing pain. Astana maybe not be around for longer but, I know they will stay together under any other name/Sponsor. There's nobody on the circuit right now with the potential to beat Alberto.  You haven't see cycling the last couple of years, or maybe you watch or read what the american media report (most of the time doping scandals).  Alberto is building his season around the Tour, like Lance did. How many times you saw Lance being a force during the season. Let me help you, never. He was always there building his fitnness level to peak during those 23 days in July.

    I know you are a Fan, but do the research and read different sources before make half inteligent statements.
